The body sits beside the vessel, art sits beside craft, beauty sits beside the grotesque, my work sits between. These sculptures’ ambiguous shapes create a constant re-examining, and allow one to become familiar with ideas of “the other” or the unknown. Obsessive repetition creates these forms. Repetition breaks with careful moments that emanate soft sensuality. The forms that I create are creature-like and draw upon a level of familiarity; almost as if you have seen this other worldly mass before. This collection of works are symbols of movement, life, and curiosity of the unseen.
